About DCS
DCS is a non-audition amateur choir of around 90 voices. The choir sing to a high standard
under the direction of a professional Musical Director and Accompanist.

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings throughout the year except July and August.  DCS
is a friendly choir and potential new members will always find a warm welcome.

DCS has a long association with, and habitually participates in, the Leith Hill Musical
Festival (LHMF) that was founded in Dorking by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The choir usually perform three further concerts every year singing a highly varied
repertoire, from 16th century to contemporary music. Exceptionally DCS
did not sing at the
LHMF in the 2008/9 season, but instead perform
ed Bach's St John's Passion at Arundel
cathedral on 9th March 2009.

DCS is established as a Society dedicated to the promotion of Choral Singing within the
Dorking area. Choir members elect a committee which is responsible for the management
the Choir. The committee appoints the Musical Director and Accompanist.
